The highlights of the side events at the finish area of the 4. stage in Saarbrücken

The Lidl Deutschland Tour 2024 was called “Side Events” one last time, and with a very special event: the Cycling Tour. Women and men of all ages cycled through Saarbrücken and the surrounding area throughout the morning and lunchtime in this popular sports race. After crossing the finish line - the same as the elite finish line - everyone received a medal and the fastest riders were honored on stage.

Another highlight on the final day in Saarbrücke was the second race of the Newcomer Tour, in which another Italian rider came out on top. Of course, the “kinder Joy of Moving mini tour” was again part of the party at the finish of the last stage. The kids were able to show off their skills one last time at the bike parade and the wheel race. And Fahrrad-Erlebniswelt was once again represented at the Expo along with several other exhibitors.

The highlights of the side events at the finish area of the 3. stage in Villingen-Schwenningen

The side events were also part of the action at the finish of stage 3, Villingen-Schwenningen. At the expo, there were numerous food and refreshment options, such as a frozen cappuccino or a smoothie. For the more active among the visitors, there was also something suitable, such as a basketball hoop at the Tissot stand. The “children's Joy of Moving mini tour” was also back for the little ones: a bicycle adventure world, the bike parade and the balance bike races. No one was bored in Villingen-Schwenningen.
And as if that wasn't enough, the Newcoer Tour, a bike race for young female cyclists, also took place here. Despite a slight delay, the girls showed what they were made of and in the end three Italians ended up on the podium.

Although there were two side events at the finish of the second stage from Heilbronn to Schwäbisch Gmünd this time, the atmosphere was still fantastic. Numerous exhibitors, such as Pink Lady, Skoda and SKS, were waiting for visitors on the Expo Tour. The bike adventure world and the bike parade by “kinder Joy of Moving” delighted even the youngest cycling fans and the balance bike race in Schwäbisch Gmünd even celebrated a record number of participants. Six groups of children cycled against each other on the home stretch of the professionals - never before have there been so many.

Two very special side events took place at the finish of stage 1 in Heilbronn. As the headquarters of Lidl Germany are based in Heilbronn, numerous Lidl employees were allowed to ride their bikes on the closed-off route of the pros on the Ride Tour.
The second highlight in Heilbronn also took place on the elite course, namely on the last 500 meters. Influencer Paul Ripke challenged former professional cyclist Rick Zabel to a sprint duel. To make the race a little fairer, water bottles were stuck to Zabel's body to compensate for the weight difference. In the end, however, the professional cyclist still won.

Of course, the “kinder Joy of Moving mini tour” with the bike parade, the running bike race and the Farrad adventure world and the Expo Tour were also there again, transforming Heilbronn into a spectacular cycling festival for a day.

In addition to the elite race, three different side events also took place in Schweinfurt. A total of 200 children took part in the “children's Joy of Moving mini tour” in Schweinfurt, either in the balance bike race or in the bike parade with Jens Voigt. At the Ride Tour, the adults showed what they are made of. From relaxed leisure cyclists to ambitious amateur athletes, everyone was there. The Expo Tour was also very popular with the visitors.
